The next post is acomin'soon...to include (my usual 'Munchian scream' from the fjords of my mind - sounds even better than Alan and Marilyn Bergman's lyric!) a Raindance Film Fest 2008 rap, The Times BFI 52nd London Film Festival preview, Optimum's new John Carpenter DVD box set, the special 2-disc edition of Abel Ferrara's King of New York, the new BFI DVD set of Pasolini's Salò (Germaine Greer musing on BBC Radio 4's Front Row,Thurs 2 October), and other mucho goodies.
In the interum, listen to one of Britain's unsung comedy heroes with an operatic hour of tributes in BBC Radio 4's The Archive Hour to the influential comedy producer, writer and performer Geoffrey Perkins. Or blast sunlight into your dreary London day with Miró, Calder, Giacometti, Braque: Aimé Maeght and His Artists at the Royal Academy or contemplate at Tate Modern's new Mark Rothko show.

2 days left to watch (or a bit more time to download at BBC iPlayer) last week's The Graham Norton Show - a naughty satirical BBC late night chat show with this week guests Harry Shearer (voice of The Simpsons), actor/comic Eddie Izzard (prior to playing London's West End following his American tour) and band Travis. The Lego/DIY internet tributes to the guests' work from teenagers in Estonia and America are really worth watching. As is the bon homie power play between Graham and his guests. Ahhhh showbizness.
Izzard on YouTube and the hommage.
